I haven't written on here in a while so i thought it was about time to post an update of what's been going on in the last few weeks. I've manages to finish my images, i just have to create the website and then writ ethe essay then i'm done, which i will hopefully do this weekend. It's been a crazy couple of weeks and for a while there my project was the last thing on my mind, although that's only because my housemate was rushed to hospital so had other things on my mind for that week, although now she's out and back here i have been able to concentrate on the other most important thing in my life other than friends and family - my education.

I've been thinking about all the different things to do with nature and technology, and was listening to what everyone else in my seminar group had to say about what they thought, and realised that there were so many different ways that we could have approached this project, a lot of people chosing the option of evolution, which if i'm honest, never actually crossed my mind when thinking about this assignment. I can't wait to see what everyone else has done with there ideas, i think there is going to be quite a mixture of outcomes!

I'm looking forward to our workshops tomorrow, but it's going to be a tough day 10 till 5 straight, with no breaks unless the workshops finish early! It's going to be interesting though to learn how to use all the other aspects of the media that we need to know about.

I've just re-read what i've already written, and realised that two out of my three entries start of with 'ok, so i...' i really need to sort that out! But enough of my critiscism of previous post!

I have finally finished my first proper week at Bournemouth Uni and just started my second. It was really good, i thought i was going to find the monday two hour lecture really boring but they've both been really interesting, so i don't dread it any more! Last week was different to what i was expecting, especially the workshops, i don't know why but i didn't think we would all be sitting in a room creating the same stuff (although i obviously can see now why we needed to!!) i just wanted to get on and create my own images and things, but i understand now that they would be pretty crappy as i wouldn't really know what i'm doing! I mean, i've used Photoshop once before, so wasn't completely suprised but i had no idea what i was doing half the time, and still can't really remember it all, i think it's going to take a while to sink in what all the different aspects of the programme do. It was really strange today in my workshop, i've used Dreamweaver before last year in my ICT A Level, but i guess it wasn't the same version, or it just seems different on a Mac as when we opened Dreamweaver, it didn't feel the same as the one i've previously used! Maybe it's just because i'm not used to Mac's in general yet, i don't know, but i'm sure it won't be long (i'll add here now, that i prefer a Mac compared to Windows!!!)

I've made a start on my creative diary, and i would say 'but i'm probably doing it all wrong' but you can't be wrong in a creative diary! I'm not sure that many of my images are relevant to the present brief, but i like them all and even if they can't now, at least will give me inspiration in the future!

I went down to the beach the other day, and was taking some pictures (they didn't come out very well as i wanted some decent waves in them, but it wasn't windy enough so they were really small and crappy). As i was walking back up through town i kept seeing things that i though 'nature and technology!!' especially the electric lights shaped as flowers as you walk through the park area back into town from the beach. If you look closely there are so many things that show nature and technology. But the only thing is, i'm not sure whether this is the kind of thing the brief is asking for, but to be honest, i don't think it's asking for anything in particular as such as if it was we would probably all come up with simular images as our result, and that would be boring! I'm rambling on now, and i'm guessing that it's my minds way of telling me that i am tired and need to give up on work for tonight! (just thought i would put in one of the images i particualry like, not sure how relevant it really is to the brief, but it's a pretty cool and interesting picture!)

Ok, so, while i was sitting and eating some cereal (strange time to eat it i know, but i got a craving, and before anyone asks, no i'm not pregnant! Lol!) i found myself thinking about this assignment that's been set. I realised, after reading the brief, that although it is an assignment on technology and nature, what is stopping us from taking images of nature and that be it? (boring i know, and obviously not what i'm going to do) I thought this because we are suposed to be seeing the relationship between technology and nature, well if we are using a camera to take the images, and we are possibly editing them on the computer, then that is the technology in it, and if the image is of something in nature, then that surely is the nature side of it. I realise that this is a very simplistic approach to what we have been set, but at the basics, is this not what has been asked of us? In the brief it is stated that pen and paper are a technology, so bascially, as long as it is of something in nature, whatever we produce should be acceptable for the set assignment. However, this is obviously a very boring outlook to what has been set, and i'm sure everyone, myself included, want to show off what they can do and will not actually do as i have said above. After thinking this (assuming that i am right in what i have said) i realised that there are so many possibilities to what we can do with this assignment! And with this thought, i shall leave...

Ok, so i've had my first proper day of lectures at Bournemouth Uni. It was different to school and collage, but i already knew it would be. The first lecture was ok, but i had learnt a lot of that in media AS, although it was a helpful revisit of mise-en-scene. The second lecture was interesting, but would have been more so, the only problem being that half the group were talking the whole time so it was kind of hard to hear Mick! The third lecture was interesting, and i could actually hear this time! So far, so good!
